Region 2 Bridge Bundle
Theorem's first design-build project is the replacement of seventeen aging bridges situated over waterways and canals within CDOT Region 2. Theorem’s role included the hydrologic and hydraulic design to determine the crossing types and dimensions to create resilient, cost-effective solutions that minimize impacts to the traveling public. Theorem’s efforts also extended to the scour and erosion control design to enhance the structural resilience of these crossings, as well as grading design aimed at optimizing operational efficiency while minimizing any potential upstream or downstream impacts.
The structures designed in this project included single and multi-cell concrete box culverts, reinforced concrete culverts, aluminum box culverts, culvert linings, and single-span bridges. The design required coordination with local floodplain administrators, irrigation companies, and Colorado Fish and Wildlife experts.
The design was completed in June of 2023 and the construction is anticipated to be completed in early 2024, approximately six months ahead of the original construction schedule.
